Position Title:  Accident & Health Underwriting Manager, Asia Pacific

Reports to (Title Only):

  1. SVP & Head of Accident & Health,  Asia Pacific
  2. Global Head of A&H U/W



Primary responsibilities include management of the Accident & Health portfolio to ensure profitability and enhance growth through support for the Business Development teams.



1.   Education 

  • Relevant Tertiary education including relevant insurance studies.

2.   Years of experience

  • Minimum 10 years Accident & Health underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Good relationship skills and negotiation skills
  • Must have leadership and organizational skills through past management experience
  • Excellent communications and customer service skills to handle all levels of operations, professional and management personnel.
  • Excellent project management and organisation skills to keep projects on track and working with external and internal resources.
  • Excellent time management to insure time is optimally utilised by the resources.
  • The ability to effectively manage conflict and daily issues dealing with the relationship between the professionals in the areas and the business customers.
  • Must work effectively as part of a regional team.
  • Ability to adjust to change driven by business needs
  • Ability to look for “win win” situations
  • Identify business needs to prioritise work based on business impact, resources and operational constraints.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent project management skills.
