Role Jurisdiction

The Head of Compliance and Risk for our client  will report to the CEO.  The successful candidate will have responsibility for all areas of compliance, both sales and corporate and will also have responsibility for operational risk.  In time, the role may expand to include financial risk also.

 

Key accountabilities

Compliance

  • Raise overall standards of compliance and work practices
  • Advise management and staff of law and regulatory changes
  • Inculcate compliant culture into our business proposition – strong compliance will differentiate PACS from our competitors
  • Prevent, detect and correct non-compliant practices
  • Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve the program’s effectiveness
  • Communicate non-compliance issues within the industry to the senior management team
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
  • Liaise closely with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Group and Regional Head office

 

Risk Management

  • Manage the company’s operational and financial risk
  • Ensure the company’s risk appetite is in line with guidelines from Head office and statutory requirements
  • Develop and update the operational risk management framework and its implementation according to Group policy
  • Assessing the soundness and adequacy of the company’s procedures and control

 

Ideal candidate profile

  • Bachelor degree with high proficiency in English (Verbal & Written), MBA is desirable
  • Approximately 20 years experience in Compliance and/or Risk Management area in Life Insurance Industry
  • Possesses a high standard of analytical and communication skills
  • Both team player and ability to work independently
  • Proven management and leadership skills
