Position Title: Accident & Health Underwriting Manager, Asia Pacific
Reports to (Title Only):
- SVP & Head of Accident & Health, Asia Pacific
- Global Head of A&H U/W
OVERALL KEY POSITION OBJECTIVE
Primary responsibilities include management of the Accident & Health portfolio to ensure profitability and enhance growth through support for the Business Development teams.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
- Relevant Tertiary education including relevant insurance studies.
2. Years of experience
- Minimum 10 years Accident & Health underwriting experience.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Good relationship skills and negotiation skills
- Must have leadership and organizational skills through past management experience
- Excellent communications and customer service skills to handle all levels of operations, professional and management personnel.
- Excellent project management and organisation skills to keep projects on track and working with external and internal resources.
- Excellent time management to insure time is optimally utilised by the resources.
- The ability to effectively manage conflict and daily issues dealing with the relationship between the professionals in the areas and the business customers.
- Must work effectively as part of a regional team.
- Ability to adjust to change driven by business needs
- Ability to look for “win win” situations
- Identify business needs to prioritise work based on business impact, resources and operational constraints.
