Annual Planning
- High quality contribution to annual category reviews to shape brand / innovation thinking within Strategic Plan/ AOP
- Category analysis tests growth assumptions for brands and category within the AOP
Category Leadership
- High quality contribution to the development of company’s category strategies
Customer Category Leadership (captaincy)
- Lead category management reviews with designated customers category teams as the “expert”
- Provide category assessment within key customers leading to authoritative strategies & tactics for category growth
- (Balancing category credibility) Make gains in space, range (breadth & depth) and feature for brands
- Support retailer implementation plan of category re-lays – where appropriate
- Lead on SKU delist management liaising with sales / brands and supply chain
Brand & NPD activity
- Provide on going brand & category support to brand teams as part of activity and comms planning
- Input into NPD projects at scoping, detailed planning and “ready to sell” stages
Sales activity
- Support customer mgt team in preparation for key meetings bringing credible category analysis & opinion
- Conduct regular reviews of brand and category performance and make recommendations to sales and retailer category teams to improve performance
Category Reporting
- Provide periodic category & brand performance market and competitor reviews including recommendations for action for internal use
- (Optional) Responsibility for managing relationships with 3rd party agencies (eg data providers)
LM & Capability development
- Conduct high quality performance mgt and personal development routines in line with company guidelines
- Plays active role in self and direct reports personal development, with high focus on individual coaching
- Adopts high standards and integrity in line management activities (where applicable)
