Purpose of the Role:

• Assume the role of Chief Actuary for China
• Provide leadership for the following 4 functions in the actuarial area

– the Actuarial Product Development team

– the Actuarial Financial Reporting team

– the Business System Development team

– the Business Development Actuarial team

Key Accountabilites:

In addition to performing the role of Chief Actuary for the Chinese business, the job holder will lead the actuarial team in the following key areas:

• Actuarial Product Development
• Actuarial Financial Reporting
• Business System Development
• Business Development Actuarial
• Team Management

Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualified Actuary with at least 10 years post-qualification experience
• Strong technical experience in actuarial management including product pricing development, management of par business and capital management
• Strong technical skills and understanding of all aspects of actuarial and financial principles
• Excellent leadership and change management skills
• Good analytical and communication skills
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Experience in team management with the ability to coach and develop staff
• Experience as appointed actuary in insurance companies preferred
