Job Title Financial Director, AS Watson THAILAND

Our client is a major global retailer with over 3000 stores world wide operating across grocery, health & beauty and electronic categories.

Based in Bangkok and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a team in formulating, monitoring and improving financial & operational controls and procedures on an on-going basis, and addition to developing the Corporate Strategy with the MD. As a business partner, you will also be responsible in supporting the Senior Management Team in reviewing and executing financial matters as well as strategic planning & decision-making.

The role:

• Hire, train, manage, and develop the local finance team.
• Ensure key financial processes are effective, efficient, and well controlled.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information (local GAAP and HK GAAP), both for management and statutory accounts.
• Develop, and prepare Corporate Strategy, with the MD and taking guidance from Corporate Headquarters.
• Support the management teams in effective decision making using analytical tools.
• Member of Property Investment Committee, Audit Committee, Management Board, IT Steering Group, and other trading meetings as appropriate
• Liaison with local JV partner on reporting and relationship management
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
• Strengthen controls throughout the business through working with the Audit Manager.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies such as the local tax bureau.
• In liaison with corporate tax department, maximise local tax efficiencies / savings.
• Work with Treasury to make efficient and secure use of cash funds.
• Support colleagues and MD in ad hoc analysis to drive the business.
• Ensure capital is efficiently invested through analytical tools and commercial understanding.
• Manage working capital to maximise return on investment.
• Develop management accountancy function, providing a full analytical service to respective internal customers.

• Manage the development of close working relationships with regulatory agencies.

Background Experience:
• Qualified accountant, with at least 8 years of experience gained from multinational environment must be in retail/FMCG industry.
• Prior working experience in international organizations would be an advantage
• Understanding of business structural options and application.
• Experience in Oracle Financials and ERP implementation preferable.
• Strong business acumen and track record of achievement / results.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight schedules.
