OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:

The head of Operations China will have overall control of all supply chain functions and administration of Pacific Direct Shanghai LLC.

B)     PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supply Chain management. Ensuring quality and continuity of supply.
• Procurement, cost savings and working capital optimisation.
• Management of the China team in Shanghai and factory based.
• Overall responsibility for finance, HR, administration.
• Responsible for protecting the company’s assets, integrity and internal controls.
• Implementation of IT systems.

C)     KEY CHALLENGES IN JOB:

•         Recruitment of new team and new office set up with new business processes.

•         Seamless transition from HK office to Shanghai.

•         New IT systems implementation and internal controls improvements.

•         Managing supply chain and suppliers.

D) ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Head of Operation China will report directly to the COO. Responsibilities include the management of c.10 full-time employees.

• Leadership skills: The job holder must be able to select and lead the Shanghai team.
• Integrity:      The job holder must work with the utmost honesty and integrity.
• Communication skills:  Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Results Orientation:   Must be self-motivated, conscientious and be able to understand the Group strategy.
• Negotiation skills: Must be an excellent negotiator.
• Project management skills: Proven project management skills..

F) QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Sound academic record. University/Technical College Graduate with good degree.

• Senior level supply chain management and procurement experience from a fast moving manufacturing background is essential.

• Experience of consumer goods, consumer durables, household products, health & beauty, cosmetics, personal care categories would be a distinct advantage.

• Sales and marketing and general management experience.

• International experience having worked substantially outside of China.

• A record of success and achievement. A team player.
