Capital Shopping Centres is the UK’s largest shopping centre owner (operator) and since the acquisition of The Trafford Centre on 26th January 2011 it now owns 15 UK regional shopping centres including 11 of the UK’s top 30.  Total assets amount to 16 million square ft of space equating to £6 billion value.

The CSC shopping centre portfolio is clearly an enviable one with over 320 million customer visits and 30 million unique visitors to the centres each year. The next stage of growth will focus on building a distinctive and leading brand identity with the “customer experience” at its core. A new strategic initiative is shortly to be launched following an internal and external announcement on 15th January 2013 to create a new centre based national brand “intu” to replace CSC. The launch will be supported by a £25 million investment to fund new centre based technology infrastructure, branding & communication, “world class service” training for 1800 staff and a massive experiential focus to deliver joy, pleasure and delight through customer interaction at every touch point.

 

Job Holders Key Aim

 

To deliver revenue from promotional activity in line with the Commercial Business Plan.  The Sales Director will also take ownership for the development of the Sales team to ensure there is a well trained and motivated team, committed to results achievement.

 

Key Objectives

  • To develop strategies to source, manage and achieve / exceed income targets in the following strategic areas.
  • Brand Experience
  • Customer Acquisition
  • Seasonal Retail

 

  • To innovate and source additional avenues of income through sponsorship and Brand Immersion.
  •  To develop intu’s relationship with external Brand and media agencies.
  •  To ensure the delivery of market leading excellence in commercialisation.
  •  To communicate and liaise with Centre Management to maximise the revenues from mall promotional space.
  •  To build partnership relationships with Key National Accounts.
  • To challenge and improve existing services and facilities through innovation.
  • To set rate cards and review on an annual basis.
  • To oversee the marketing collateral highlighting centre information and available promotion sites.
  • To take ownership of the Promotions website.
  • To take ownership of the Promotions Booking System.
  • To monitor and adapt the sales process including administration and approvals.
  • To prepare annual targets and quarterly variance forecasting.
  • Responsible for weekly, monthly and annual budget reports.
  • To provide monthly market and sales overviews.
  •  To recruit the Promotions Sales and Account teams.
  • To undertake any other duties as and when required by management.

  • To ensure all documentation is maintained, completed to schedule and  efficiently.
  • To benchmark our initiatives against those in other companies and provide improvements.
