Job Title Travel Retail Brand Manager (Whyte & Mackay Global)

Role and context

Purpose               

Role within the Travel Retail team fully dedicated to the Whyte and Mackay portfolio of brands, developing innovative, competitive and ambitious strategies for all brands within the global TR channel. This role would also be the ‘guardian’ of the brands, making sure executions are in line with global strategies and expected standards within the channel

Context

TR is a key channel for W&M and the priority 1 ‘market’ for Dalmore.

It is an international luxury shop window with lots of opportunities to build the brands in various big hubs worldwide. It reaches millions of international passengers across the world every day.

Our aim is to behave like big global brands (eg. Pernod and Diageo brands) when executing promotions and even reach for better and more high profile executions. We don’t have the same budgets as them but we do have the ability to be more innovative and creative. This is always what we should aim for.

So far we have been focusing very much on trade marketing and we need to get better at planning and developing TR specific tools and concepts for the brands.

Key Outputs

 

  • Develop and follow up implementation of TR global yearly brand plans
  • Develop exciting and innovative tools specific to the TR channel (POS, merchandising guidelines, promotional concepts, brand presentations, training material…)
  • Responsible of any design work within the TR team (promotions, marketing tools, design stand exhibition…)
  • Work closely with brand team to develop customers exclusive products
  • Regular reports to the business on TR activities and regular report to TR team on brands activities and updates
  • Responsible for overall TR strategic budget management
  • Responsible for PR strategy in TR

Qualifications  / capabilities                                         

 

Languages: desirable but not a pre-requisite

Graduate, business / marketing qualification

 

Experience (priority order)                                               

Minimum of 4 years marketing experience in an FMCG environment; ideally Luxury sector and/or drink

Full knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix both strategic and operational combined with experience of managing a portfolio of brands.

 

Previous drinks experience, preferably in alcoholic beverages

Previous Travel Retail experience is desirable for not a pre-requisite
